Throughout the entire run of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano since 2015, avid viewers are indeed aware how the titular character Cardo Dalisay (Coco Martin) has been an ultimate ‘chick magnet’.

It can be observed that ever since the first season, almost every new female character who would enter the show got smitten by his charms. But among all the beautiful women that surrounded him and showed their interest on him, it was still Alyana (Yassi Pressman) who he chose to be his lawfully wedded wife and be his partner for the rest of his life.

However, there’s this one lady who had been so persistent with her unconditional admiration towards him, even though he had gently pushed her away a number of times already – Clarice Padua (Rhen Escano), the beloved daughter of one of his nemeses, Arturo Padua (Tirso Cruz III).

Aside from courageously confessing to Cardo her feelings for him, she also unhesitatingly put her life on the line in several instances for him, such as in the latest episode wherein she unintentionally got shot by Lily (Lorna Tolentino) during Task Force Agila’s encounter against them.

With her tragic demise, let’s revisit the moments when Clarice showed her unrequited love for him in this episode of Kapamilya Toplist!

It can be recalled that from the very first time that she saw him on television, she already had a huge crush on him and vowed to make him fall for her. Much to her delight, she found out that they were actually living just a stone’s throw away from each other. Who would forget their first encounter wherein Cardo and his friends saved her from a group of muggers who attempted to attack her one evening, but it turned out that she just hired them? As her way of expressing her utmost gratitude, she didn’t only thank him, but also hugged him tight and kissed him on the lips!

Since she was seemingly more concerned with Cardo than her dad, she helped him escape from the latter’s goons by telling him to make her his hostage. He was initially hesitant, yet still heeded since it’s the only way that they could run away. And that’s when Clarice journey with the whole Task Force Agila started.

As they lived together in one roof, her admiration for Cardo grew stronger and Alyana’s presence never became a hindrance for her to not be vocal or transparent about her feelings towards him. She didn’t only express it by telling it straight to his face, but also in doing things for him, such as preparing his food and coffee and taking good care of her when he got fatally shot after their bloody skirmish with the Black Ops.

And when Alyana died, Clarice had grown more confident to profess her love for him. She told him that she’s ready to take the place of his deceased wife, that she could love him more than she did, and that she would be willing to follow and accompany him wherever he would go just like what Alyana did for Cardo.

Despite her pleas, he still rejected her for the umpteenth time, telling her that no other woman could ever replace Alyana in his heart and life. But she remained unstoppable and vowed to never stop showing her love for him no matter what.

Clarice’s love for Cardo may be unrequited, but she inspired us to always love genuinely, regardless if it will be reciprocated or not.
