Jane de Leon takes her final bow

Jane De Leon ended her stint in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano with epic action and superb drama alongside actor-director Coco Martin. She was last seen thanking Cardo for everything, in tears, and the mesmerizing, heartfelt scene quite mirrored her real emotions.

Jane had to leave the show to gear up for her flight in the new adaptation of Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series. In a farewell video, the actress expressed gratitude to everyone who loved her character Captain Lia Mante and those who never stopped supporting the six-year-old teleserye.

She also thanked the whole Team Promdi – from the cast to the production staff. “Maraming, maraming salamat po sa mainit na pagtanggap n’yo po sa akin at sa karakter kong si Captain Lia Mante.”

Most of all, she’s deeply thankful to Coco for guiding her in every scene. “Gusto ko rin pong magpasalamat kay Direk Coco Martin na napaka-supportive sa lahat ng eksena ko. Maraming-maraming salamat sa’yo, Coco,” she said.

In a video shared by Dreamscape Entertainment, Jane delivered her farewell speech after filming her last scene. She was surrounded by her co-actors and the production team. “I’m so happy and grateful talaga. At sana sa susunod magkita-kita pa tayong lahat.” Leading the pack, Coco shouted ‘Darna’ to mark Jane’s send off to her next big role.

“This is Captain Lia Mante, signing off.” Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end, as the song goes. And like how viewers embraced Jane as Lia Mante, everyone will surely love her as the legendary superheroine Darna.

Jane’s exit was a highlight of her action-drama credibility. Her character, alongside Cardo Dalisay and the Task Force Agila, managed to avenge Audrey (Aya Fernandez)’s death by punishing her murderer Enrique Vera (Simon Ibarra) in a shocking “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth” plot.

Defying expectations, the show kept Lia alive. Her family only decided to leave the country before Albert (Geoff Eigenmann) starts his investigation. Cardo and the Task Force Agila are also en route to a new hiding place, paving the way for a new chapter.

Watch out for the entrance of exciting characters led by Julia Montes as Mara for the sixth anniversary of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, weeknights, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z
