Cardo Dalisay (Coco Martin) wouldn’t be as heroic without the people breathing him support and courage. Teddy (Joel Torre), his valiant father-in-law, has been one of his constant allies, rallying behind him despite the grave danger. In this Toplist, we rounded up the scenes proving that Teddy supports Cardo in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

Parents, especially fathers, will do anything to protect their daughter. The Arevalos had big dreams for Alyana (Yassi Pressman) and they helped her pursue her dream journalistic career. But Alyana’s choices changed when she fell in love with Cardo, a decision that would enrage her mother Virgie (Shamaine Buencamino).

While Teddy is also worried about his daughter’s safety, he still gave Cardo and Alyana his blessing when they chose to live in the distant town of Sto. Nino. He only wanted the couple’s happiness and didn’t demand anything other than Cardo’s promise not to hurt Alyana.

“Mag-asawa na kayo at hindi na namin siya pag-aari. Panghahawakan ko ang pangako mo, Cardo basta nandito lang kami, nakasuporta sa inyo,” he told his son-in-law.

 

Even when the politician’s son Marco (JC Santos) tried to pursue Alyana, Teddy’s vote still went to Cardo. He helped him fix their marriage during a phase of marital woes when Alyana was full of disappointment over Cardo abandoning her for his missions and seeing how much the desire for vengeance consumed him. While he empathized with his daughter’s pain, Teddy gave Cardo a chance to reconcile with Alyana. He had faith in his intentions.

 

Teddy would stand by Cardo’s defense even if it ignites an argument with Virgie. If there’s someone who deeply understands Cardo’s struggles as a husband, it would be none other than Teddy, who also once worked hard to win the approval of Virgie’s parents. He stressed that just like them, Cardo and Alyana made a sacramental vow. While Virgie would want to break the couple apart, Teddy stood by the moral truth that Cardo is the man their daughter chose to love.

 

Despite the danger lurking around Ayana due to being the wife of a stalwart cop, Teddy never got tired of explaining to Virgie that Cardo will keep their daughter safe. He held on to Cardo’s promise and he had faith in his capabilities to protect Alyana.

 

“Si Cardo ang pinakasalan ni Alyana at wala ka nang magagawa do’n,” Teddy told Virgie. In a scene, Teddy was even willing to risk his own safety and help in Cardo’s mission instead of just sitting around blaming him. He told Virgie to stop hating Cardo and just cooperate instead.

 

Cardo’s fight is also his fight. During Lucas Cabrera (Edu Manzano)’s regime and at the peak of Cardo’s fight for justice as the leader of the vigilante group Vendetta, Teddy helped open the eyes of the public. This way, they became a powerful tandem. Cardo saved people with a gun while Teddy used the pen as a weapon.

The aid was extended to Cardo’s family. There was a time when he helped Cardo and Diana (Angel Aquino) investigate the conspirators behind Delfin (Jaime Fabregas)’s arrest.

 

Despite knowing that Alyana’s decision would only put her life in grave danger and despite Virgie’s disapproval, Teddy showed the couple his support and guidance. He advised Cardo and Alyana to look for a new hiding place in their hometown in Batangas after successfully escaping Art (Tirso Cruz)’s henchmen.

 

Teddy’s relation to Cardo had many times put his own life at risk. After sending Cardo and Alyana to Batangas, Teddy and Virgie became the targets of Art and Lily (Lorna Tolentino). But, no matter what happens, Teddy will never betray Cardo. Thankfully, they managed to escape an encounter with the enemies.

 

The wish to protect Cardo and his whereabouts made his and Virgie’s life a living nightmare. He alongside Diana was captured by Art and Lily. Yet, no amount of threats, harassment, and even the possibility of death can eat up his loyalty.

Teddy would put his life on the line for Cardo, proven by the amount of torture he’s willing to take just to keep his whereabouts a secret.
