On November 1, the undisputed King of Primetime Coco Martin turned a year older, but not without the FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano family to honor him.
He was apparently shooting that day in Tanay, Rizal when #TeamPromdi of the long-running hit series suddenly burst into chants of “Happy Birthday” to the #IdolNgMasa.
Action star and former senator Lito Lapid (Leon Dumaguit) and son, former Pampanga governor Mark Lapid (Tigre) provided the lechon as a special treat to the birthday boy and crew.
Coco portrays the incorruptible Cardo Dalisay in the teleserye. Now on its third year, FPJ's Ang Probinsyano is considered the longest-running series for television in the Philippines.
Since its debut on TV in 2015, #TeamPromdi has received numerous awards and citations from the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) , Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), Catholic Mass Media Awards Foundation, People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), and various academic institutions of higher learning, among others.
On the eve of his natal day, the Kapamilya star was feted with a surprise birthday bash organized by Dreamscape Entertainment in Quezon City, as seen in this video.
Among Coco’s well-wishers that Halloween night were Ms. Susan Roces, Eddie Garcia, Yassi Pressman, Edu Manzano, Bianca Manalo, Jaime Fabregas, Angel Aquino, Albert Martinez, John Prats, Mark Solis, Jhong Hilario, Malou Crisologo, Joross Gamboa and Cherry Pie Picache.
These surprise celebrations have been the industry’s fitting tribute to the 37-year old King of Philippine TV Series who has helped revive the careers of many former stars and stuntmen through their inclusion in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano.
May you live long, Coco!
