10 times Marissa showed her strong willed personality that kept her standing despite all odds in Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin

There’s nothing more beautiful than a woman who manages to rise from the ashes and turn life’s trials into power weapons. Such a stunning strength is magnified in the character of Marissa (Jodi Sta. Maria) from Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin. As her story comes to a close, let us look back at the moments that showed her unbreakable determination via this Kapamilya Toplist.

While serving time in prison for her best friend Ellice (Iza Calzado)’s crime, Marissa suffered from all kinds of misery, coating her heart with bitterness and igniting the desire for revenge. She gathered strength and all tools deemed necessary through the help of Adelina (Carla Martinez).

The scorned woman made her first big comeback to infiltrate Ellice’s world all over again. This time, she was more than ready to plot her best friend’s downfall. She was seen looking at her from afar. She vowed to make Ellice pay while images of her sufferings in prison are interspersed in that scene.

Her charisma and cunning schemes are big parts of Marissa’s ‘kontrabida’ arsenal. The transformation from being a simple barrio girl to an intelligent businesswoman turned things on her favor. She easily won Ellice’s trust and in the process of reconciliation made her way inside the Cenidoza Pearls. “Ito na ang simula ng pagkakapanalo ko, Ellice Marami pa akong aagawin sa’yo,” Marissa vowed to herself.

It didn’t take long until her inner ‘devil’ was revealed but she knows how to outsmart the enemies. There was a scene where she still managed to turn the table while Ellice tried to expose her misdeeds in the company. Marissa’s game plan was simple, albeit evil. She silenced Ellice’s trusted employee who holds all the pieces of evidence proving her dishonesty.

Marissa’s strength lies in her grit and calculated moves. She sure knows when to be aggressive and when to slow down. Although driven by hatred, her existence was full of class and power. At that point, she was the one privileged to tell Ellice “ang sa iyo ay akin.” She was too furious that even Ellice’s life will not be enough to pay for all her sufferings.

However, the conflict heightened and the chapter closed with Marissa grieving alone over her son Jacob’s death.

The loss enflamed Marissa’s desire for vengeance even more. The bida-kontrabida heroine is also the queen of grand reveals and explosive comebacks. She resurfaced after seventeen years, seething with passion yet wise enough to choose her battles and words. Marissa sure knows how to threaten her enemies with her choice of feisty, juicy statements.

She signalled another round of war by shocking everyone at the launching of La Sierra. Finally, the new and promising jewelry line had a face – and she was none other than the vengeful, strong-willed Marissa. It didn’t take long until she dominated Ellice’s empire and took the crown by owning more than half of Cenidoza Pearls.

Ellice’s agony due to Hope (Kira Balinger)’s condition and need for a bone marrow transplant would crystallize Marissa’s victory. Marissa served her nemesis a controversial deal. She asked her to surrender Cenidoza Pearls in exchange for her consent to let Jake (Grae Fernandez) donate a piece of his bone marrow to Hope. Through this wise winning move, Marissa managed to destroy the Cenidoza legacy.
