Titled “The Heart-Stealing Ending,” Kapamilya series Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin will drop more twists and intense drama extravaganza on its road to finale. Kira Balinger and Grae Fernandez, playing two of the most beloved characters in the series, tease about the next events to unfold and share their unforgettable experiences on the show.
This week’s episodes gave viewers ‘mini heart attacks,’ with Kira and Grae’s respective characters Hope and Jake caught up in a chasing scene against Caesar (Simon Ibarra)’s trusted gunman Red (Manuel Chua), bringing Jake in a critical condition and posing another agony for Marissa (Jodi Sta. Maria).
How did Kira deliver organic emotions? She got scared of the fake blood all over Grae’s body! She even felt the suspense watching last night’s episode. Asked how they prepare for such heavy scenes, Kira and Grae stressed the importance of listening to the directors. It takes fervid focus and teamwork to mount such big episodes.
The young stars would get a bit sentimental looking back on their experience. There would miss a lot about this project and one of which is the camaraderie. Kira said she gained another family so close to heart. The show appeared intimidating at first. She was scared but it was worth the risk. And the juiciest ’banat’ of all is Kira saying she will miss Grae.
The cast kept it professional while on duty. As soon as the cameras stop grinding, they would bond over food and endless ‘chika,’ and swimming on free days. Mobile games aka the ASIAA “tournament” forged brotherhood among the boys.
Every taping day was special because of the lessons learned. But the most memorable one for Kira was filming last night’s accident scene. She had fun playing ala action star for a day. Although she had a stunt double, some sequences required her real appearance.
Blessed with the privilege to work with a stellar cast, they learned so much about life and their craft. Kira admires Jodi for her focus and dedication. Grae revealed that Jodi, a Psychology major, loves to share lessons about mental health.
Kira found a new ‘mom’ in Iza Calzado, who’s always there to help and encourage especially on her bad days. Grae further described Iza as a people-person. She loves to get to know and be friends with everyone on the set.
On Sam Milby, the duo talked about him being a cool ‘Kuya’ with a sense of humor and impressive views about life. Joseph Marco, on the other hand, was tagged as the caring and ‘astig na Kuya.’ He gave them tips about keeping a love team.
Kira has a soft spot for Maricel Soriano whose motherly care reminds her of her own mom. Grae added that the Diamond Star loves to impart acting wisdom. They would even learn just by watching her.
Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin has truly made history, surpassing major roadblocks amid a pandemic. It was the first Kapamilya series to be filmed in a lock-in bubble and launched as ABS-CBN moved to digital programming. Despite the hurdles, the show did not disappoint in every aspect. It served viewers an enthralling story delivered by a top-notch cast ensemble.
It’s one for the books for Kira and Grae. She was reluctant at first due to the COVID-19 situation but she can’t turn down the privilege of working with some of the industry’s best. Grae is just as overwhelmed and grateful.
He also thanked his loveteam partner for keeping him company, “Thank you for being with me along this journey na sobrang saya. Ang dami kong natutunan dahil sa’yo. It’s been a great time with you.”
She likewise thanked him for the lessons and friendship. She’s also looking forward to what’s ahead, “Thank you for making me feel na pwede kitang pagkatiwalaan. I found a friend in you. I hope to learn more from you in the future and I’m excited.”
The ‘kilig’ tandem invited viewers to catch the “Heart-Stealing Ending” of Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin, , created by Dindo C. Perez and Julie Anne R. Benitez and directed by FM Reyes and Avel Sunpongco, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
