The game of revenge got nastier in last week’s episodes of Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin following the sudden return of Belen (Rita Avila) and the explosive revelations, wounds and wickedness that resurfaced from the past.
Belen got her schemes rolling, further complicating her daughter Ellice (Iza Calzado)’s life. The first plan was to kick Lucing (Maricel Soriano) out of the Villarosa abode for a personal vendetta that’s yet to be fully revealed in the succeeding episodes. She felt victorious when she finally won Ellice’s sympathy and drove Lucing out, and later behind bars following a perfectly orchestrated drama.
“The trash has been taken out. It’s go big or go home,” Belen told Rio (Poppert Bernadas) over the phone.
Lucing found her way home to Marissa (Jodi Sta. Maria), hurt over Ellice turning her back on her. She blamed herself for destroying Ellice’s trust and their relationship. Ellice’s loss was Marissa’s gain and the latter was happy to be reunited with her mom.
The incident caused a stir between Gabriel (Sam Milby) and Ellice. In yet another heated argument, he hinted at his distrust towards Belen. “Paano si Nanay Lucing? Mas matagal natin siyang nakasama. Hindi siya ang dapat pagdudahan mo. Doesn’t it bother you na ‘yung isang tao na halos buong buhay mo wala, nawala sa’yo, ngayon lang bumalik? Hindi pa natin siya lubos na kilala,” he asserted.
“Ano bang gusto mo? Pabayaan ko ‘yung nanay ko pagkatapos ng lahat ng nangyari? What kind of daughter does that make me? She is trying her best to be a mother to me right now,” she answered back.
Gabriel made his hunches about Belen be known to his mom, Carmelita (Cheska Inigo), who thought making friends will help Gabriel cope with the sudden turnaround. She visited Belen at home but the latter didn’t shy away from exhibiting her true colors especially when Lucing’s name was brought up in the conversation.
Belen warned Carmelita, “You don’t want to make an enemy out of me lalo na pagdating sa anak ko. And now that I am here, wala nang makakaapi sa kanya,” digging up Ramon (Alvin Anson) and Gabriel’s cruel behavior towards Ellice in the past.
It turned out Ellice was unaware of Lucing getting sent to jail due to charges filed by her mother. However, manipulated by the lies, she took her mom’s side.
“Alam mong hindi ko gustong malagay si Nanay Lucing sa kanyang sitwasyon but I also understand kung saan nanggagaling ang Mommy ko. Ngayon, kung natatakot siya at feeling niya dapat niyang kasuhan si Nanay Lucing, for her peace of mind, wala akong magagawa doon,” she told Gabriel.
The incident ignited another round of war between Ellice and Marissa as the latter, fully triggered, stormed to the Cenidoza Pearls to signal the fight.
“Si Nanay, hindi mo ba siya pamilya? Ang dali mo nga siyang itinapon nang dahil lang sa isang kasinungalingan. Humanda ka! You crossed the line. Dinamay mo si Nanay sa kasakiman mo,” Marissa threatened Ellice.
Even Gabriel and Hope (Kira Balinger) despise Ellice’s sudden change of heart, drawn to Lucing and the love she has shown them over the years. Back at the Villarosa residence, Hope told her mom over dinner, “What has gotten into me? Mom, baka dapat tanungin niyo ang sarili niyo. Nagbago po kayo mula nang dumating si Lola Belen. Nagbago ang pakikitungo mo kay Lola Lucing. Ngayon, wala na siya and it’s all your fault!”
With Adelina (Carla Martinez)’s help, Marissa managed to work on Lucing’s release. The reunion sparked a tender, dramatic moment between Lucing and her grandkids Hope and Jake (Grae Fernandez). “You don’t turn your back on family, Lola,” said Hope.
The affection reminded Lucing that her dream of seeing Hope and Jake get along has finally come true. “Noong mga sanggol pa lang kayo, inalagaan ko kayo. Pinangarap ko na sana sa paglaki ninyo, nagmamahalan kayo, pinoprotektahan ang isa’t isa. Lagi n’yong tatandaan, magkapatid kayo hindi lang dahil iisa ang ama ninyo kundi dahil meron din kayong isang nagmamahal sa inyo, ang Lola ninyo, ako ‘yun,” she told them.
Just as when Ellice was starting to empathize with Lucing, the devious Belen played the victim card once again and fed her daughter’s mind with more lies and misguided promises. Spinning the wheels of manipulation, she told her, “Remember, Ellice, blood is thicker than water.”
That blood, unfortunately, is driving Ellice to a different path further from her loved ones. Gabriel tried to enlighten her about the sudden change in her attitude, pinning the blame on Belen. But, Ellice bought her mother’s drama and lies once again. “She’s the only one supporting me habang lahat kayo, lahat kayo have turned your backs against me,” she told her husband.
The conversation ensued following the tension between Ellice and Jake. “Alam kong may galit kayo sa akin pero, please, huwag n’yo sanang ipagkait kay Hope ang tulong ng mga taong nagmamalasakit sa kanya,” he told her when scolded for coming to her house without her knowing.
“Wala kang karapatang sumagot sa akin dahil bastardo ka lang,” Ellice’s feisty response.
The conflict from home tails Ellice at the Cenidoza Pearls office. Much to her surprise, and rage, Marissa came unannounced to inform everyone that forty percent of the Cenidoza Pearls is now under her hands.
Ellice knew Marissa didn’t play fair and even without solid evidence at hand, she said, “Hindi ko kailangan ng pruweba para mapatunayan na isa kang ahas!”
“Mag-iingat ka sa mga sinasabi mo. Pero kung gusto mong ipaglaban ‘yang mga sinasabi mo, hindi kita aatrasan, kaya mag-ipon ka na ng ebidensya,” replied Marissa.
More secrets are unveiled in the succeeding episodes. This time, Lucing unearthed a document proving Jorge (Lito Pimentel)’s deception that caused her husband Nestor (Allan Paule) and their family’s downfall. “Babawiin ko ang tunay naming pag-aari,” declared Lucing, now embittered towards Ellice.
Meanwhile, clueless of her father’s misdeeds, Ellice worked on putting up a charity in honor of Jorge and the “positive” impact he left on the people La Cascara. “Ang lahat ng success na tinatamasa ko at ng kompanya ngayon, it’s all because of him,” she uttered.
Ellice has gained an ally but at the expense of the family she tried hard to build. Will this be the start of her downfall and of Marissa’s victory?
