She’s been in show business for nearly four decades, but Isabel Granada’s youthful glow still shimmers up to this day.
Before currently portraying the elitist and stifling Cris, Anton’s (Ian Veneracion) friend who doubts Andeng’s (Bea Alonzo) intentions and capabilities on A Love to Last, Isabel was a popular teen star in the 1980s with numerous movie and television projects since she kicked off her career in 1978.
Isabel was a commercial model before she decided to venture in showbiz through the youth-oriented program That’s Entertainment, where she joined the “Tuesday group” alongside such teen idols then as Jean Garcia, Janno Gibbs, Manilyn Reynes, Rita Avila, and child stars Judy Ann Santos and Billy Crawford, while being part of a love team with Chuckie Dreyfus. Her versatility as a performer was thoroughly honed in the show. She then broke out as an actress, starring in the 1986 romantic drama film Bakit Madalas ang Tibok ng Puso headlined by Aga Muhlach and Janice de Belen.
Since then, she became an in-demand actress and strings of movie projects came rushing in, such as Shake Rattle and Roll 2 (1990), Chickboys (1994), Ligaya ang Itawag Mo Sa Akin (1997), and Hubad sa Ilalim ng Buwan (1999) among others. She’s also been active in television and appeared in several Kapamilya shows, namely: Sa Puso Ko Iingatan Ka (2001-2003),
Aside from being an actress, the Filipino-Spanish beauty made her mark in the music scene as well. She released three recording albums – her self-titled debut album in 1990, Out Here on My Own (1998), and In the Mood for Love (2000) and held several concerts.
But did you know that Isabel is also a licensed pilot? She finished her Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering degree in Philippine Air Transport and Training Services (PATTS) College of Aeronautics and is eligible to maneuver commercial flights. However, she decided to postpone her career as a pilot to focus on her family full time. She is now married to businessman Arnel Cowley and a loving mother to stepdaughters Sarah and Abbey, and to her own son Hubert.
Despite the many hats she puts on, she is able to maintain her timeless beauty and sexy physique, which is due to her healthy and active lifestyle. After surviving myoma and ovarian cysts a few years ago, Isabel has become more conscious with her diet and inclined with sports. She tried out volleyball and basketball in her younger years to lose weight, but she’s currently into badminton, and even joined several tournaments.
Isabel indeed is a living proof that age is just a number!
