Isabel Granada was a popular teen star in the 1980s with numerous movie and television projects since she kicked off her career in 1978.
Isabel was a commercial model before she decided to venture in showbiz through the youth-oriented program That’s Entertainment, where she joined the “Tuesday group” alongside such teen idols then as Jean Garcia, Janno Gibbs, Manilyn Reynes, Rita Avila, and child stars Judy Ann Santos and Billy Crawford, while being part of a love team with Chuckie Dreyfus.
Her versatility as a performer was thoroughly honed in the show. She then broke out as an actress, starring in the 1986 romantic drama film Bakit Madalas ang Tibok ng Puso headlined by Aga Muhlach and Janice de Belen.
Since then, she became an in-demand actress and strings of movie projects came rushing in, such as Shake Rattle and Roll 2 (1990), Chickboys (1994), Ligaya ang Itawag Mo Sa Akin (1997), and Hubad sa Ilalim ng Buwan (1999) among others. She’s also been active in television and appeared in several Kapamilya shows, namely: Sa Puso Ko Iingatan Ka (2001-2003),
Aside from being an actress, the Filipino-Spanish beauty made her mark in the music scene as well. She released three recording albums – her self-titled debut album in 1990, Out Here on My Own (1998), and In the Mood for Love (2000) and held several concerts.
But did you know that Isabel is also a licensed pilot? She finished her Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering degree in Philippine Air Transport and Training Services (PATTS) College of Aeronautics.
Isabel Granada played the role of Cris, the domineering and snooty friend of Anton in the Bea Alonzo-Ian Veneracion led family drama, A Love to Last, which aired until last September.
