Kim Chiu’s triumphant release of her song “Bawal Lumabas” became the top trending topic on social media, as collated by our trusty, reliable insiders DJ Jhai Ho, MJ Felipe, and Darla Sauler in “4Ts” on Online Kapamilya Shows (OKS).
Kim’s glorious comeback after a short hiatus due to incessant bashing over her remarks in the Laban Kapamilya Facebook Live event, using that same classroom metaphor in describing the ECQ in recording her now blockbuster hit “Bawal Lumabas” in a collab with DJ Squammy and writer Adrian Crisanto.
Released in different versions—R&B, dance, and ballad—the song encapsulates how the Love Thy Woman star uses her weaknesses as her strengths and continue delighting people in a difficult period in her life. And this not only earned her appreciation for her work but admiration for the way she handled her ordeals.
Following Kim’s “Bawal Lumabas” ditty is Angel Locsin’s initiative with Bea Alonzo and Anne Curtis to raise funds for COVID-19 mass testing, which has again made her the talk-of-the-town for her humanitarian efforts. She revived an old fundraiser with Anne called Shop and Share, which called on celebrities to donate personal items for auction, this time expanded to help finance COVID-19 tests for the greater many.
Third was President Rodrigo Duterte’s announcement that a possible COVID-19 vaccine would be available by January 2021, which indeed delighted if not surprised many.
Fourth was the viral posts of social distancing measures within public utility jeepneys, which showed the ingenuity and creativity of Filipinos using colorful cloth dividers or box like booths within their vehicles to ensure complying with quarantine rules.
Fifth was the plan to implement a barangay-based lockdown specifically for communities with high cases of COVID-19, a measure that would help contain the spread of the virus, while allowing other areas of the city to still operate.
Next was ABS-CBN veteran reporter Doris Bigornia’s fighting cats, which became viral among international news outlets. In this funny video, we see Doris working intently interviewing a guest by phone for the live TeleRadyo show “SRO” as her cute furbabies Bella and Nala exchanging blows in the background of the screen. She kept her composure while the “chaos” was going on.
Other trending topics in the list included the apology of Sen. Cynthia Villar over her remarks that the middle-class shouldn’t be included in the social amelioration program since they currently have jobs, the arrest of Internet personality Francis Leo Marcos, the entry of Pinoy boyband SB19 in the US Billboard Social 50, the bill to tax digital services such as Netflix and Facebook ads.
Check out what DJ Jhai Ho, MJ, and Darla have to say about these hottest issues on social media in Episode 2 of “4Ts” in this video.
