Kathryn Bernardo topped the day’s list of the hottest topics discussed on social media as revealed by three of ABS-CBN’s most lively and gregarious insiders in 4Ts (Top Ten Trending Topics) on Online Kapamilya Shows.
The new show, hosted by Darla Sauler, MJ Felipe and DJ Jhai Ho, provides information on these trending topics and the reason why people are passionately rushing to their social media accounts to have their say on them.
According to the trio, Kathryn’s vlog answering her mean tweets became the top trending topic for the day, as it showed the Queen of Hearts’ poise, confidence, and classiness in dealing with bashers, making people admire her more.
The heartbreaking story of vlogger Emman Nimedez followed as his announcement of having been afflicted with leukemia shocked netizens, and his expression of gratitude for their support touching them.
Next as the third most talked about issue on social media was Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla’s order to close malls again in his province because of their non-compliance to physical distancing measures. Gov. Remulla’s announcement was largely welcomed since this reminded people and business establishments that the “Q” in GCQ, which started in Cavite after a two-month lockdown on Saturday, May 16, still means quarantine and that they should still follow physical distancing measures.
Fourth in trending topic list is Ivana Alawi’s viral appearance on Raffy Tulfo’s YouTube channel, wherein she was pranked into believing someone had complained about a supposedly rotten food donation she gave during the ECQ. She wept during the interview and even vowed to help the complainant financially, before she was informed it was a prank.
At number five was Philippine National Police Chief General Archie Gamboa’s statement that embattled National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Major General Debold Sinas was “hard to replace” because of the COVID-19 programs the latter put in place. An ouster, due to the controversial May 8 “mananita” that was held in honor of his birthday that broke quarantine rules, is out of the question, Gen. Gamboa said, because this could jeopardize such programs.
The rest of the top ten included Alex Gonzaga’s vlog “Pinoy Big Ate,” the admission of a group of K-Pop idols that they went to clubs in Itaewon, South Korea during a government-enforced social distancing period, OWWA Undersecretary Mocha Uson’s visit to the NBI about spreading fake news, which she claimed was an “honest mistake.” Filipino-American Francisco Martin’s landing in American Idol’s Top 5 and people going back to work at the start of the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) in Metro Manila rounded up the list.
