At its core, 2 Good 2 Be True used the power of human connections to appeal to different audience groups. It leaned not just on the wholesome relationship of Eloy (Daniel Padilla) and Ali (Kathryn Bernardo), but more so in the bond shared by MarKap, the Purok Onse peeps, the Lolo trio, and Lolo Hugo (Ronaldo Valdez)’s angels.
Behind the scenes, even the actors experienced the refreshing power of friendship, family, and love with each other. Talk about the pros of bubble taping! And that explains the major ‘sepanx’ and *sniff* finale blues as they give sweet messages for their co-stars in this video.
Seasoned actress Gelli de Belen feels honored to have worked with veteran stars and promising newbies like her on-screen daughter Bianca de Vera, who she now treats as ‘anak-anakan’ in real life. She had a pleasant experience sharing this project with everyone, but, no goodbyes.
“I’m going to miss you all but I know somewhere down the road, we will meet again. We will work together again and it will always, always be a pleasure to work with everybody. This show will always have a soft spot in my heart kasi aside from naging favorite ko si Margie dahil ang saya-saya niya i-play, kasama na ‘yung camaraderie with everybody,” expressed Gelli, adding that the lock-in setup helped forge their bond, “Kahit mga hindi ko ka-eksena, close pa rin ako sa kanila kasi palagi kaming magkasama.”
Gelli’s ‘accidental loveteam’ partner Cris Villanueva hopes the friendship continues even after the series ends. “Mami-miss ko kayo nang husto. I hope hindi lang ito sa set. Sana magkita-kita tayo sa labas or ‘pag nagkasalubungan tayo, sana it will still be the same kung paano tayo naghiwa-hiwalay because I will truly, truly miss all of you.”
Alyssa Muhlach, one of the most vocal about the team’s rapport and family-like bonding activities, credits KathNiel in her emotional speech. “Sobrang mami-miss ko silang lahat because iba talaga siya compared to other shows. Even ‘yung mga bida, ‘yung KathNiel, never nilang pinaramdam sa amin na they are big stars. They welcomed each one of us. ‘Pag rest day, kahit alam kong pagod si Kath sa taping the day before pero magka-message kami kasi kami ‘yung nag-o-organize ng gathering namin every rest day. So, I really appreciate that.” She added they aren’t scared to open up even about their personal lives to their co-stars, knowing there’s trust and respect.
For Via Antonio, 2G2BT brought her fresh start after an uncertain two-year lockdown. “’Yung mga buwan [sa lock-in], they helped me endure ‘yung year na 2022 given the fact na post-pandemic siya and we are still having the pandemic. ‘Yung lungkot na tiniis ng 2020, 2021 parang naging worth it ‘yung paghihintay because this is one of the projects na tumatak ‘yung bawat miyembro ng cast.” She acknowledged that it takes effort to sustain the relationships they built, yet she’s certain, with the right amount of effort, they can keep Team 2G2BT forever.
Rookie actress Bianca de Vera thanks her co-stars for being her second home for almost a year. “Thank you for making my workplace my happy place. Thank you kasi you made my first project very memorable and kakargahin ko ‘yun sa heart ko forever and ever.”
The “Apat na Itlog” left heartfelt messages as well. Gillian Vicencio thanked everyone from cast to directors and production for the guidance, lessons, and food trips. Matt Evans and Yves Flores promised to always be there for their co-stars and that nothing will change even after they step out of their bubble.
Sobrang blessed ko and honored na maka-work kayong lahat – sobrang gagaling, sobrang babait at down to earth. Isa ‘to sa mga projects na ‘di ko makakalimutan dahil sa mga co-stars ko and love na love ko kayo sobra.”
Pamu Pamorada tried not to cry while telling her cast-mates, “I love you, guys. Maraming, maraming salamat na naging part kayo ng life ko, ng 2022 ko. I pray and I hope na kung saan man tayo dalhin ng journey natin, magkaroon tayo ng joy and peace and happiness.”
To share the screen with brilliant co-stars, let alone form solid friendships with them, is a dream come true for Hyubs Azarcon. “Sa lahat ng nakasama ko dito sa 2 Good 2 Be True, sobrang ang gagaling inyong lahat. Napakaswerte ko dahil napabilang ako sa cast ng 2 Good 2 Be True. Maraming salamat sa inyong lahat.”
Seasoned actor Romnick Sarmenta likewise thanked his fellow cast members, especially KathNiel, for making work a lot more enjoyable. “Hindi siya naging trabaho for me at all. I’m pleasantly surprised, sobra, with Kathryn and Daniel on how caring and genuine they are with their co-actors.” He also gave a special shout-out to Ronaldo Valdez, from whom he learned a lot, and wished to work again with all of them in his next projects.
It’s a wrap for the cast and production of 2 Good 2 Be True! But the friendships they built will sure grow outside their small taping bubble even after the teleserye ends.
Don’t miss the finale episode of 2 Good 2 Be True this Friday, November 11, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
