When Red (Yves Flores) and Tox (Gillian Vicencio) started to spend more time with just each other, no one from their friends and family anticipated that they would become a couple. Although they crossed the line between being ‘tropa’ and lovers just for a show, we can’t help but wish their fake relationship evolve into something real.

Whether it was 'kilig' or plain awkwardness, Red felt something different when Tox embraced him as he comes home from the police station. At the time, he assumed that he was the crush Tox was talking about when in fact it was Eloy (Daniel Padilla).

You would know you’re ‘in like’ when something has changed whenever you’re with the person. Red could feel the spark whenever they would stand next to each other, so close they almost kiss, such as when they peeked out of the window at Daddy Ays (Matt Evan)’s computer shop to investigate the latter’s suspicious activities. She said they could’ve just asked Daddy Ays to end their speculations. But he stressed that no guy would admit his illicit activities unless he's a one-woman man like him. Isn’t that a low-key ‘parinig’ to impress Tox?

The adorable duo is often on a food trip which when looked at through a romantic lens appears like a date. Honestly, even their ‘isaw’ date was a big ‘sana all’ moment as they made it look so fun and sweet.

And how nice is it that she remembers his favorite food and put in the effort to buy him burnt banana cue? Well, when you truly like someone, you remember even the little things they said. Red made the scene extra ‘kilig’ with his cute smile and when he assumed Tox was trying to court him.

Following that scene, they fell asleep on the tables at Daddy Ays’ computer shop and saw each other the moment they opened their eyes. She asked him to move further, which was likely her way to deny his effect on her.

Of course, the highlight of ReTox’s journey is when they had to pretend as lovers. In that episode, Eloy brought Ali (Kathryn Bernardo) to their place. Watching how the former takes good care of the latter, Tox felt so jealous she cried. Everyone was puzzled. To save her from embarrassment, Red came up with a genius script in his head and told their friends and family, especially Tox’s father Mang Ben (Earl Ignacio), that they are in a relationship and that she is crying because of an LQ. Red to the rescue!

Lola Heart (Irma Adlawan) was laughing throughout Red’s confession, with the latter saying he fell for Tox without warning, and the more he denies it, the more his feelings swim to the surface. It doesn’t take a genius to notice the realness in the way he talked good things about her. 

They balance each other out, which is one factor that makes their relationship so swoon-worthy and believable. She is serious but he loves to poke fun at her, thus she inevitably mimics his humor. There was a scene where he brought her snacks but asked her to pay him. Then, he smeared sugar on her face, so she did the same to get even.

Sometimes it seems he’s enjoying their pretend relationship. When Eloy decided to come with Mang Fred (Romnick Sarmenta) to Bicol, his friends got sentimental and comforted each other. Tox hugged Red to make him feel better. Daddy Ays wanted to join them but Red pushed him away, saying “pang mag-jowa lang ‘to.” Lol.

You know the friendship is special when you can comfortably open up to them about anything, your heartbreaks included. In a scene, Tox admitted to Red that she struggles to move on from Eloy. She feels it’s not that easy. Then, he thought she could use their fake romance to help her forget, saying “Maghihintay ako.” Asked what he meant, he brushed it off and explained that he will wait until she feels better. We felt that, Red!

What we love about ReTox moments is that they are not too sappy but just the right mix of ‘kilig’ and relatable. One perfect example is the scene where they went out on a double date with Daddy Ays and his wife. And when asked what they love about each other, Tox casually replied that Red makes her happy. Isn’t that how love should make us feel?
