Ever since it was unveiled last year that Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla were going to mark their 10th anniversary as an on-and-off-screen couple through a teleserye, fans surely couldn’t help but be excited about it.

And now, after months of waiting, 2 Good 2 Be True is finally happening! As it is set to begin airing on cable and free TV beginning on May 16, here are five reasons why you should not miss it!
KathNiel’s grand comeback project
In the past 10 years, Kath and DJ have been unwaveringly making us kilig with their unmistakable chemistry. From their first-ever team-up in Growing Up in 2011, they have continued to enthrall us in their succeeding TV projects, namely, Princess and I (2012), Got To Believe (2013), Pangako Sa ‘Yo (2015), and La Luna Sangre (2017).

This is also their return to their romantic-comedy roots on TV, nine years after the well-loved Got To Believe. In one of their media interviews, the “Supreme Idol of his Generation” related that they actually requested to do a light series, which they think is a nice breather from the times we’re in. Thus, they were so happy when the story was formed and the casting was disclosed to them.
Since it has been five years since the last time we have seen them in a teleserye, 2 Good 2 Be True is definitely considered the ultimate comeback project of our beloved King and Queen of Hearts!
Interesting, unique storyline
As this is their grand return on TV, the project must be really superb. And by watching the trailers released by ABS-CBN this month, we can say that the narrative is truly impressive and exciting.
2 Good 2 Be True will follow the journey of their characters Ali and Eloy, whose paths are going to cross through a robbery incident at a hotel, in which Ali (Kathryn) was the sole witness, while Eloy (DJ) is among the alleged suspects. As someone who firmly believes that “honesty is the best policy,” she is out to prove that he is indeed part of it.
Apparently, her accusations are true because Eloy actually belongs to a group of scam artists, which is his way of fulfilling his mission of discovering the truth behind the crime that put his father (Romnick Sarmenta) in prison. And this led him to an old man named Hugo (Ronaldo Valdez), to whom Ali works as a private nurse. Thus, he plots to use her in executing his plans against him, despite her growing suspicions about him.
Ronaldo Valdez’s teleserye return
Of course, it’s not only KathNiel who will star in this much-awaited series, but veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez, too! His character, Hugo Agcaoili, is going to play a pivotal role in the life and love journey of Ali and Eloy. He is described as stern, cunning, and clever real-estate magnate.

2 Good 2 Be True also serves as his teleserye return, three years after his remarkable stint in the afternoon soap opera Precious Hearts Romances Presents Los Bastardos from 2018 to 2019.
In the past five decades that he’s been in the industry, we’ve seen him portray various roles in a number of Kapamilya series as well since 1997. Among those were Mula Sa Puso (1997), Sa Dulo Ng Walang Hanggan (2001), I Love Betty La Fea (2008), Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo (2010), Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin (2011), Dahil Sa Pag-Ibig (2012), Ina, Kapatid, Anak (2012), Pasión De Amor (2015), and Magpahanggang Wakas (2016). And now, we’re looking forward to seeing him play a new character in this series!
Stellar cast ensemble
Aside from the storyline of Ali, Eloy, and Lolo Hugo, Daniel shared that viewers should also take note of the other characters, which will be portrayed by some of the most talented stars in the local entertainment industry.

Among them are veteran thespians Gloria Diaz and Bodjie Pascua, as well as seasoned actors Romnick Sarmenta, Irma Adlawan, Gelli de Belen, Cris Villanueva, Smokey Manaloto, Hyubs Azarcon, and Earl Ignacio.
Also part of the supporting cast are Matt Evans, Yves Flores, Pamu Pamorada, Via Antonio, Viveika Ravanes, Jenny Miller, Gillian Vicencio, Alyssa Muhlach, Mary Joy Apostol, Kristel Fulgar, and newbie Bianca de Vera.
Seasoned actresses Mickey Ferriols and Ina Raymundo are also going to have a special participation in the series.
It’s a Mae Cruz-Alviar masterpiece
Of course, any movie or series would not be successful without a brilliant director who would guide the actors in unleashing their best performances and helm the narrative that would get us truly hooked in every scene and episode. And for 2 Good 2 Be True, it’s top-caliber director Mae Cruz-Alviar.

She’s been a filmmaker for almost two decades now and has already helmed a slew of hit Kapamilya teleseryes, such as Maging Sino Ka Man (2016), Magkaribal (2010), Dolce Amore (2016), Sana Dalawa ang Puso (2018), Ngayon at Kailanman (2018), and Make It With You (2020). She also has a number of blockbuster flicks under her belt, which includes “Bcuz of U” (2004), “She's the One” (2013), “Bride for Rent” (2014), “Everyday I Love You” (2015), and “Unbreakable” (2019).
The seasoned director already got to work with KathNiel in previous projects – their box-office hits “Crazy Beautiful You” (2015) and “Can’t Help Falling In Love” (2017), plus their big-screen debut via the anthology film “24/7 In Love” (2012), as well as teleseryes Pangako Sa ‘Yo (2015) and La Luna Sangre (2017).
“Sa mundo ng pangloloko, totoo pa ba ang true love”? Well, that’s for us to find out by not missing an episode of 2 Good 2 Be True once it begins airing on May 16 on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, Jeepney TV, A2Z Channel 11, and TV5.
