The second episode, which was tagged as #Tadhana247, commenced in the scene where the pilot episode left off – in the morning of February 16, 2020. Mia Agbayani, the narrative’s heroine impeccably portrayed by Julia Montes, spotted a mysterious device atop their table at home that when pressed would display a series of news clips pertaining the death of siblings Cristina (Meryll Soriano) and Gerard (McCoy de Leon) Capili and of her own as well. These certainly made her anxious, more so when her best friend Charlotte (Anna Luna) denied that it was from her, but eventually just shrugged it off and reported to work.
Meanwhile, in the Infectious Disease Research Lab, Cristina and Dra. Delilah Gomez (Denise Laurel) were having a heated discussion regarding the experiment they’re conducting when an emergency occurred – there was a small fire in their lab and one of the flasks containing specimens got accidentally shattered – that terribly left them uneasy, with Delilah warning Cristina not to disclose anything that happened, especially the results of their studies. She also told her to go on an indefinite leave.
Knowing that her life was in danger, Cristina immediately called her younger brother Gerard to ask him to deliver the specimen she smuggled from the laboratory to her college professor. Unfortunately, the henchmen of Dr. Claudio Jacinto (Edu Manzano), the debauch proprietor of Jacinto Pharmaceuticals, were able to tail them and the exciting chase began. In the end, they were able to take Cristina away with them, while Gerard faced his untimely death in pursuit of helping her sister out.
And in an unbelievable twist of fate, Mia and Cristina crossed paths when the latter’s abductors stopped in front of the C. Jacinto Hospital, giving her the ample time to escape. The former was able to spot her while doing her rounds in the hospital premises and singlehandedly toppled down the goons, who unbeknownst to her were the henchmen of their boss Claudio and his son Dr. Cedric (Arjo Atayde).
Upon realizing that the news regarding the Capili siblings were true, particularly when she and Charlotte found the lifeless body of Gerard on the bridge, she resolved to save Cristina from the people who would want to kill her and in hopes of preventing her tragic fate as well by sneaking her out of the hospital and transferring to another.
But what she did put her and her son’s lives at risk as the focus of Claudio’s group veered on her. Gregor (Eric Fructuoso) and Otep (Benj Manalo) tailed her from the time she sent her unico hijo Xavier to school up to the moment that she went home. Fortunately, Mia was able to remember the plate number of the van used by Cristina’s kidnappers upon seeing it after alighting from the jeep and stopped the two men from their wicked plan of harming her by confronting them all by herself.
At the same time, our heartstrings were also pulled upon the sight of the heart-melting moments between Mia and Xavier and of Mia crying as she reviewed the horrendous news clip about her death, fearing not only for her life, but for her son the most.
